Charis Free Energy-Efficient Appliances for Fuel Poor Households

There is money available in Charis’ Let’s Talk Energy Fund in Scotland which provides free energy-efficient appliances to households who are struggling to pay their energy bills.

It’s an Ofgem approved scheme, operated by Charis and funded by UK energy suppliers. And we want to ensure that eligible households in Scotland are aware of the support available.

Old cookers, fridges, freezers and washing machines are costly to run and expensive to replace. So, subject to available funding, the Let’s Talk Energy Fund makes up to two free appliances available to eligible households, helping to stretch their household budgets a little further. Any old appliances will be taken away by our delivery teams for recycling.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be in receipt of means tested benefits or have a gross annual household income below £20,328

  • Not already have the type of appliance they’re applying for, or, have an existing appliance that’s more than 8 years old or broken

They can apply at charisgrants.com/partners/charis-lets-talk-energy-fund/.
