The ‘Dunside Devils’ played two matches
at Auchtermuchty on Tuesday 9th
June. After going down 3 goals to Auchtermuchty
within the first three minutes the Dunside Devils
turned the match around and played some fantastic
football earning themselves a 4 all draw. Ross
Hogarth grabbed a hatrick and the final goal was
scored by Reece Gordon. In the second match Dunside
Devils took on a quality Wormit team who had just
beaten Tayport 2 v 1 in their last match. Wormit had
a goal disallowed in the first 5 minutes and then
Dunside Devils had a controversial penalty awarded
that was converted by Ross Hogarth. Unfortunately
tired legs seem to show later on and the Devils lost
4 v 1. This was a much improved performance on the
previous week when the Dunside Devils lost 7 v 0 to
Tayport.
Thursday 11th June saw Gateside Primary School take on Letham Primary School away from home. The whole school attended to cheer on the two games with plenty of parents and friends watching. The Primary 1 to 3 game ended 6 v 0 to Letham in the lovely sunny weather. The Primary 4 to 7 game was very evenly contested, having already lost 3 v 2 to Letham at home Gateside were trying their best to get that first win under their belts. Letham started well and were 2 up within 10 minutes until Gateside changed their attack. Ross Hogarth instantly made a difference to the attack and by midway through the second half Gateside had scored 4 goals and all of them were scored by Ross. Letham fought back hard and the final score on an excellently contested game was Gateside 4 v 4 Letham. Gateside and Dunside Devils are still waiting for that elusive first win
