Vote for Loch Leven Heritage Trail
04/07/09 22:05 Filed in: Places
Loch Leven Heritage Trail passes through a National
Nature Reserve in Kinross-shire, Scotland, that was
previously not open to the public. It gives access to
an “open-air museum” with castles to
explore, artwork to admire and heritage material that
explains the cultural, sporting and natural history
of the area.
It is competing for National Lottery funding to complete a path suitable for walkers, cyclists and wheelchairs around the whole loch. Currently the path starts at Kinross and stops at Vane Farm.
It is the only Scottish finalist in the Environment category. There are nine other competing projects. So, this very worthwhile cause really needs your vote. You can vote by phone or on the internet until 1200 on Friday 10 July. The phone number to register your vote is 0844 686 5219. Calls will cost 5p from a BT landline. Costs from other providers and mobiles may vary. If you wish to vote on the internet please follow this link.
You can find out more about the heritage trail at http://www.lochlevenheritagetrail.co.uk.
